Role Summary
An exciting role leading our Oracle & MS SQL DBA team within our professional services organisation, you’ll be responsible for leading, managing, and developing our DBA's, which implement, configure, and administrate high availability Oracle Database infrastructure that serves, supports, and underpins our market-leading WinPath software portfolio.
Key Duties
Provide leadership for the DBA’s assigning their workloads, developing team members, and more.
Support of our WinPath Enterprise solution, comprising of various Oracle databases including WinPath, PathManager and Cyberlab applications database storage mechanisms.
Organise and oversee all customer-based IT implementations, developing quality processes and documentation for installation to satisfy the customer and business requirements.
Manage enterprise-level implementation, configuration, and administration of Oracle 12 to 19c RDBMS, Oracle RAC or Oracle FastStart Failover solutions into mission-critical 24/7 environments
Collaborate with our Services and Development teams to solve customer Oracle issues as required and to lead in customer database upgrades and sizing as required.
Take part in the out-of-hours rota to support primarily the Oracle environment.
Work with and support Technical Sales, Sales and Bid teams when required to ensure accurate and timely quotations and technical specifications.
To keep abreast of Oracle products and functionality.
Key Skills, Abilities and Experience
To be a great Oracle Team Leader you need a range of functional and technical skills.
Experience in Team Leadership, from mentoring to leading and managing a team
Able to demonstrate, plan, and organising team activities, motivating, leading, coaching, training, and development of team members.
Strong experience in Oracle 19c and 12c Databases, Oracle RAC and Oracle Fast Start, CRS, Physical and Logical Standby database, Active Data Guard, Grid Control (Oracle Enterprise Manager).
Any experience of Oracle 21c, LogMiner, Golden Gate and RAT, or Powershell scripting is desirable.
Experience in installing and performance tuning large-scale Oracle databases on Windows and Unix/Linux platforms.
Any experience of the Cloud, especially Microsoft Azure is highly desirable
Hands-on expertise in large Oracle database design, sizing, and administration on both physical and virtual platforms.
Experience in data migrations, patching, and bug-fix scripts.
Experience of performance tuning Oracle Databases with enterprise applications
Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, shell scripting, and Batch programs.
Oracle Certification such as OCP is advantageous.
Any experience in the UK or Ireland Health IT Ecosystems would be advantageous
This role can be based from home UK Wide and will require infrequent travel to customer sites, company offices, and events.
